Alasaad started coaching the cheer team at the then-college a decade ago, and then shifted the program to a dance focus. This year, the dance team included three competitive teams – jazz, lyrical and hip hop – in addition to the promo team which represented MacEwan in the community. |

The women’s team, skipped by Kelly Erickson, beat NAIT in the final match to win the gold. The mixed team, skipped by Ryley Manning, lost to Concordia in their final match but managed to snag the bronze. |
