After 10 years, MacEwan dance coach Danielle Alasaad is calling it a day. Alasaad started coaching the cheer team at the then-college a decade ago, and then shifted the program to a dance focus. This year, the dance team included three competitive teams – jazz, lyrical and hip hop – in addition to the promo team which represented MacEwan in the community.

Cross-country running coaches, Drew Carver and Linda Miller, have been busy in their first year at MacEwan. They started last spring, trained students through the summer, and had a successful outdoor season in the fall. But then they kept going.

MacEwan’s curling team wrapped up the year with some sizzle, winning two medals at ACAC provincials. The women’s team, skipped by Kelly Erickson, beat NAIT in the final match to win the gold. The mixed team, skipped by Ryley Manning, lost to Concordia in their final match but managed to snag the bronze.
